Dear Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to invite you to participate in the upcoming ISE-sponsored conference «52nd Heyrovsky Discussion” on “Electrochemistry of Organic Compounds and Biopolymers”, which will be held in Liblice chateau near Mělník (free transport from/to Prague is organized), Czech Republic, on June 16th — June 20th, 2019. The conference is organized in scientific cooperation of the J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague with the Institute of Biophysics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Brno (both Czech Republic).

The conference is organized on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of awarding Professor J. Heyrovsky by Nobel Prize for the invention of polarography and is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Emil Paleček.

The Heyrovsky Discussions have been organized annually during last more than five decades. The general philosophy of the Discussions is to invite experienced scientists specialized in a certain field together with students or young research workers, and to let them present in an informal way their most recent electrochemical achievements and their interpretations with a special stress on a broad and friendly scientific informal discussion.

We hope that the 52nd Heyrovský Discussion will contribute to the interdisciplinary linkage between (electro)chemistry and biology or physiology and simultaneously to the development of electrochemistry itself.

Electrochemical investigation of organic compounds, biopolymers, and studies of mechanisms of related electrode processes are the main topic of the 52th Heyrovsky Discussion with the following subtopics:

        Structure-reactivity relationship in redox-active molecular systems;

        Electrochemistry and electroanalysis of drugs, bioactive compounds, genotoxic and ecotoxic substances;

        Biopolymer electrochemistry;

        Biological membranes, their mimics, and transporting processes;

        Novel materials and nanotechnology for electrochemical sensors.

We are arranging the possibility of publishing a special issue of an impacted journal devoted to this conference, in which extended forms of the best contributions could be published.

April 20th, 2019 is the deadline for the submission of abstracts in electronic form. April, 30th, 2019 is also the deadline for the ”Early bird“ payment. During the May 2019, the proposed program of 52nd Heyrovsky Discussion and other important information will be distributed (only to the pre-registered participants).

Abstract submission is currently open. With respect to the limited capacity of the conference hotel, number of participants is limited (and considered as “first come – first serve”). All abstracts should be submitted to navratil@jh-inst.cas.cz or HD2019@jh-inst.cas.cz . For more information, contact Tomas Navratil: (navratil@jh-inst.cas.cz), Miroslav Fojta (Fojta@ibp.cz) or visit http://www.jh-inst.cas.cz/~hdisc/2019/.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Liblice.
